We hope you will join us in exhibiting at the GrassRoots Recycling Network’s third National Recycling and Zero Waste Conference set in Devens, Massachusetts October 19 & 20, 2009.
GRRN is the leading US nonprofit organization advocating and working towards a Zero Waste future in the US. GRRN has identified Massachusetts and New England as a prime region to advance Zero Waste programs, goals, and create Zero Waste Communities. This conference will energize the recycling and environmental community in this region to implement new ideas and practices that will create jobs, reduce waste, conserve natural resources, build a sustainable economy, reduce greenhouse gases and protect the environment.
If you'd like to be an exhibitor, we are offering a table-top exhibit space for $500 that includes one full conference registration (valued at $350) plus a table with chairs, skirting. Our rates are low because we need to structure this venture to work for exhibitors, attendees and public agencies in a troubled economy. Nonetheless, we expect exhibitors will be very pleased with their exposure, foot traffic, and conference experience. Your booth will be located inside the general session conference rooms for maximum exposure—not in an isolated exhibit hall.
Conference Audience:
GRRN’s Conference will be the premiere national event this year for professionals that are working to implement more waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting programs, as well as household hazardous wastes and other environmental services. Attendees will come from local governments, state agencies, federal government, non-profits, consulting businesses, recycling businesses, business sustainability coordinators, colleges and other large institutions, collection companies, special events coordinators and businesses that supply the tools and services that are needed to reduce waste and recycle more.
In addition, most conference attendees are involved in the creation and formation of government policies and educational outreach campaigns that target consumers and companies to reduce waste and recycle more, reducing carbon footprints and greenhouse gas emissions, and saving resources.
GRRN attracted about 200 of the leaders in Zero Waste to its first National Zero Waste Conference in Oakland in 2004, and its second National Zero Waste Conference in New York in 2005. Since that time, interest has been exploding in the concept and practical implementation of Zero Waste throughout the US.
GRRN will be offering discounts to cooperating organizations throughout the United States that help promote this event, including state Recycling Organizations and local, state and national reuse, recycling, composting and Zero Waste groups. GRRN hopes to attract a good number of attendees from those that had planned to go to the National Recycling Coalition Annual Conference and Exposition in Portland that was cancelled.
Exhibiting at GRRN’s 3d National Recycling and Zero Waste Conference is a fantastic opportunity to actively influence future waste prevention, reuse, recycling and composting policies and markets in New England and leading Zero Waste communities across the nation.
The Conference Program Includes:
- Making the Connection between Climate Change and Wasting
- Zero Waste Businesses: Leading the Way. Case Studies of Zero Waste Business
- Zero Waste Communities in Action: Case Studies of Zero Waste Communities
- How to write a Zero Waste Community Plan

The Location: The Conference will be held at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites/Devens Common Center located on the former Fort Devens, a decommissioned military base repurposed as an Eco-Industrial Park that has a Zero Waste goal. Devens Common Center is located about 1 hour west of Boston and about 1 hour south of the Manchester, NH airport.
The Venue: Devens Common Conference Center is operated by Marriott. As part of their efforts to become an EcoStar Achiever, they provide comprehensive recycling services, compost food scraps and soiled paper and will work with GRRN and our local hosts to make this a Zero Waste Event.
The Exhibit Hall: In order to keep costs low and increase foot traffic, the exhibit tables will be located in the main ballroom where the plenary sessions, general sessions and most of the breakout sessions will take place. Exhibitors will be able to enjoy all the conference proceedings, have significant foot-traffic throughout the entire event, and can easily staff the booth without missing any events, meals, or sessions instead of being isolated in a separate area.
Cost: $500 includes an 8’ table with skirting, chairs, one full conference registration plus discount on an additional full conference registration. Vendors will not be required to use convention center labor to unload their displays. Pipe and Drape is not provided but adequate space for your exhibitor display and products will be available. 110 electricity available by request (quantity limited) included in the exhibit fee. Easels rentals are available for signage for an additional $16.00 per easel per day.
Additional Exhibitor Benefits:
