RECYCLING: ZERO WASTE
ECO-CYCLE'S EARTH DAY EVENT 2000
Boulder Public Library
Friday, April 21
12:00 - 1:30pm
Though recycling rates continue to rise, recycling alone will not
end our dependency on landfills or reverse the rapid depletion of
our natural resources. To more sustainably protect our environment,
many countries are beginning the new millenium by taking waste reduction
a step further with a concept called Zero Waste. By replacing our
one-way garbage habit with new systems, policies and infrastructures,
Zero Waste preserves resources for generations to come.
Is Zero Waste an idealistic dream or can it become reality?
Join us on April 21 for this exclusive presentation where Boulder
County high school students will learn about precedent setting programs
that will effect their future. The presentation includes:
- Premiere showing of the new video "Zero Waste"
- A talk by nationally recognized Zero Waste expert Gary Liss highlighting
national and international success stories
- Question and answer session with Gary Liss and Eric Lombardi,
Eco-Cycle's Executive Director
Bus
transportation and substitute teachers
will be paid for by Eco-Cycle. Space is
limited to seven classes. Call Cyndra Dietz
