Take Action Today!
1. SEND IT BACK!:
Mail used plastic soda bottles back to Coca-Cola! Send your own used bottles or scavenge discarded bottles. Print and tape a Coke mailing label to a clean, empty plastic Coke bottle, add 55 cents postage, and mail-away. By the way, this has been a great fundraiser for groups. Get a table at a busy intersection or event; get lots of empty plastic Coke bottles, stamps, labels, clear packing tape and flyers; ask for a donation of a dollar for each bottle sent; have people fill out a label; put 55 cent stamp and label on, mail and keep the balance to support your club's good works.
2. TELL YOUR UNIVERSITY TO REQUIRE RECYCLED CONTENT CONTAINERS IN VENDING CONTRACTS WITH COKE!:
Don't give this irresponsible company your hard-earned dollars until they agree to take back the billions of plastic bottles they sell. Get your administration to require that only containers with recycled content are sold on campus, and that vendors pay for increased collection costs and reduced value if they switch from aluminum cans to plastic bottles.
3. DIVEST! PASS A RESOLUTION!:
Get your school to divest of Coke stock until they keep their promise. Get your town or school to pass a Resolution urging Coke to use recycled plastic.
4. WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR!:
Use one of our or write your own. Please send copies of letters to GRRN. Also, put information on the campaign in your organization's newsletter, using information on this GRRN website.
5. TELL US!:
Email us about your plans and news so we can share with other students. Please send us copies of any local news articles on the Coke campaign (GRRN, PO Box 49283, Athens GA 30604).
