Friday, October 6
Afternoon: Arrive at Trinity Mountain Fellowship Camp in
Blackhawk (2.5 hours from Denver airport via Boulder)
Dinner: First meal
Evening: GRRN Retreat – Main retreat meeting starts.
Saturday, October 7
All day: GRRN Retreat.
Sunday, October 8
Morning: GRRN Retreat wrap-up
Lunch:
Afternoon, evening: Optional meeting on forming a Zero Waste USA Trust.
Monday, October 9
Morning: Finish up ZW USA Trust
Lunch: Clean up & depart.
Objective: Review & assess major projects from last year
and establish 2 or 3 major projects for the next 12 months,
including coordinating with with groups that have common
goals and projects.
FRIDAY, October 6

Afternoon: Participants arrive, enjoy mountains.
6-7 PM Dinner
8-9:00 PM Get together /informal welcome.
9:00 PM- on Catch up with old friends, make new friends
SATURDAY, October 7
7:30-8:30 AM Breakfast
8:30-9:30 Welcoming remarks and introductions (two minutes
each).
9:30-10:45 Review and discussion of GRRN's major projects
during the past year including (Producer Responsibility,
Coke & Bottle Bills; Wasting report; Recycle Congress;
Forest Products Recycling; Zero Waste USA Trust; Zero
Waste videos & Alternatives to Incineration/Landfilling.
Also brief presentations (5 minutes) on other projects relevant
to GRRN's Zero Waste mission.
10:45-11 Break
11-12:30 Discussion and evaluation of priorities and
campaigns for the coming year.
12:30-1:30 PM Lunch
1:30-3:30 PM Time to play (rowing, canoeing, hiking, tennis,
table tennis, walking, snoozing, hangin' out)
3:30-6:30 PM Breakout sessions on possible campaigns.
6:30-7:30 PM Dinner
7:30- PM Play time, networking (also summarize sessions & new ideas for Sunday presentations)
SUNDAY, October 8th
7:30-8:30 AM Breakfast & cleanup
8:30-9:30 AM Reports from breakout groups
9:30-10:30 AM New Issues/Opportunities for GRRN Action
10:30-10:45 Break
10:45-11:30 Follow-up organizing/ Outreach strategy and
Recap of decisions made/ Action plan
11:30-Noon Evaluation and any closing remarks by
participants; Adjourn.
12:00-1:00 PM Lunch; Those not staying for optional
Zero Waste USA Trust meeting depart.
DRAFT AGENDA
Sunday 2 PM through Monday noon, October 8-9, 2000
Introduction
Quick outline by all on why we have come and what we
want from it – 5 min each maximum.
Presentation by Warren Snow on the Zero Waste New
Zealand Trust and key ingredients of success for the
campaign. (30 min)
Discussion concepts and targets and whether a national
zero waste campaign is relevant for the USA. (1 hour)
If agreed that it looks good do some sort of envisioning
process to see how it would work in the big picture. (1 hour)
Discuss resources required. (30 min)
Start Stage One planning process, including budget estimates
Elect steering committee and define functions
Talk about fundraising strategy
Agree on actions and next meeting date
Set up date for final decision to go or not with ZW USA
Trust concept and decide on implementation process.
[A committee of interested individuals could draft a plan
Sunday evening, based on the discussion Sunday
afternoon, for further work by the full group Monday morning.]
